Zine catalogue

Here is a list of my zines. If you're interested in buying or trading, please send me an email (see above) and we'll figure out postage and payment. (The prices listed are in Australian money.)

#05 Kachi-Koshi

I like to watch sumo wrestling. We went to a tournament during our first trip to Japan, just as a cultural experience and without any knowledge or expectation that we would enjoy the sport as a sport… but now I watch all the tournaments and go to sumo events here in Melbourne. It's a lot of fun! This zine is a crash course in sumo in case you would like to give it a go… and I think it's interesting even if you're not going to become a committed fan.

#04 Onion Songs

A list of songs that reliably make me cry, with snippets of lyrics.

There's a spotify playlist too, or you could google for a service that will convert that playlist to other streaming services. Or you could go and buy each track if you like them. I don't actually use Spotify but it seemed like the best way to let people hear the songs.

#03 Highlights

A few years ago I realised that because I read a lot for work, I wasn't really reading books any more. I decided I really needed to change that. Reading ebooks is so much easier because I can always pick up my book during down time (on the train, in a queue, at lunchtime). So now I read more books again! I highlight passages that I think capture an important idea. Here are some of those passages.

#02 manga panels that i saved because i relate to them

I mostly read digital manga and sometimes I get the urge to screenshot and save a particular panel because it resonates with me. The weird thing is that these panels are usually very, very mundane. But they capture a mood or an emotion that resonaates with me.

#01 Japanese Stairs

When I visited Japan, I noticed that there are a lot of stairs around. Where we would put stairs on the inside of a building, they put the stairs on the outside. I couldn't stop noticing stairs and photographing them. I've visited a few times now, and I drive my travel companions a bit nuts by stopping to take photos of stairs all the time.

#00 The Preface

Here I explain a bit about my history with zines, and how I ended up committing to a weekly zine project.
